The Navigators | Kansas City, MO

Many college students leave college lacking the necessary skills to transition well into adult life. They find themselves depressed or anxious and seeking to be known through unhealthy relationships leading to increased instability in self-worth. At UMKC Max and Chloe are helping pioneer a campus ministry where they will be making lasting relationships with students through bible studies and in their hobbies, teaching them the commands of Jesus. UMKC students will leave campus knowing
  1. Their true value in Christ
  2. The worth of the local church and
  3. The skills to lead others spiritually

KC CHURCH PLANTERS

Kansas City (and surrounding areas)
In addition to our other local partnerships, our church and leadership catalyze, coach, assess, and strengthen church planters, church plant teams, and church planting churches. Our Lead Pastor, Orion Berridge, serves on the advisory boards of new churches and participates in church planting movements, conferences, and networks in our region and nationwide. We hold regular gatherings of church planters to support the work of church planting in Kansas City. If you are a church planter or church planting church, please reach out and connect with us HERE!

RAINBOW TOWN

Light House Churches | Liberia, Africa

We began our partnership with Rainbow Town in 2008 when we became aware of the story of MaFeeta and the country of Liberia. Liberia was ravaged by a civil war until 2003 when Charles Taylor was captured and sent to the Hague. During the war, MaFeeta was abducted by rebel armies, forced to live as a slave, and eventually was forced to take into her custody 100's of kids orphaned and starving as they ran around the countryside. During a long journey dodging fighting conflicts, she came to understand that this was her calling, and with the help of some pastors she ran into, she came to know Christ. After the war ended, she continued caring for these children at a place the government gave her called Rainbow Town.  Our church has covered the cost of rice and oil as well as medicine for this orphanage for the past 14 years.

In 2013 they invited Pastor Orion to come and help them figure out how to help them become more sustainable as a community. During this trip, MaFeeta was hoping that she would be able to convince us to help them plant a church in the village. First, she wanted to know if we trusted the gospel of Jesus Christ truthfully. A grueling (hours and hours in 98-degree heat) of biblical, doctrinal conversation occurred before finally, MaFeeta slammed the book closed and declared "We are the same, we are the same". Before our team left, the pastor was in place and a new church was born.

Since that time, the Light House Church and Pastor Alex Kollie have established many churches in surrounding towns and villages. At last count, we have seen 15 churches planted. Some in villages where the gospel has never been heard before.

Now that Rainbow Town is more self-sustaining, our work is to see the churches and leaders strengthened and each of these churches become reproducing disciple-making movements.
